A month-long rainforest sex party at a notorious Queensland nudist resort is a "recipe for disaster" that could attract sexual predators, prominent naturists say.

The White Cockatoo Resort in Port Douglas has announced it will hold an adults-only month of hedonism in March next year in a bid to increase dwindling tourist numbers.

The resort — once billed as the nation's top destination for swingers — is close to being booked out, according to owner Tony Fox.

But nudists, who have described the planned romp as "debauched", fear sexual predators will be enticed out of the woodwork by the "throng of naked flesh".

"The resort is asking for trouble — once these things start it becomes very difficult to draw the lines about what’s acceptable," Lindsay Parkyns, president of the Australian Nudist Federation, told ninemsn.

Mr Parkyns said he believed the party was a grab by the resort for money and described their actions as "not normal".

"This is going to fly in the face of years for campaigning," he said.

"We try to get beaches to be clothes optional but unfortunately that attracts the wrong sort of people — particularly single guys looking for sex — and [the resort's party] will keep reinforcing that problem."

Lisa Wright, owner of the Eureka Road Naturist Resort in south Queensland, said she and her husband had also planned a bush sex party but backed out "because of the loons".

"They are predatory in nature — their personalities are very much 'this is what I want and I'm going for it'," Mrs Wright said.

"These are the men who ring up, say they want to visit but don't want to pay to stay and then complain there aren't enough nude bodies on our website.

"The scary thing is they're free to walk in: the gate is always open."

A father and son team were recently kicked out of several nudist resorts in the area after a "tag-teaming" spree which involved touching women inappropriately, Mrs Wright said.

Mr Fox, owner of the White Cockatoo Resort, said next year's event had "nothing to do with the prudie nudies" and described their criticism as "penis envy".

"We have strict rules and guidelines — predators will not get in the gate or, if they do, they're booted out," Mr Fox told ninemsn.

"The fact that it is almost fully booked out is proof there is a desire for a product like this."

I wonder if there is a way to  single out the predators? Dumb idea yes, but  something  would have to be done in order for there not to be any chance of  things happening.  It sounds like  parents are going to  have to keep a close eye on their children or not allow them to attend. They would either have t  find someone  to  watch them for that month, or for the parents  not attend the full month.  I for one, would definitely  keep my children close at hand.

I just have to say when I lived up north I went to the white cockatoo Hedonism week in the hope of just relaxing nude and meeting other naturists. I didnt see hardly any women. All I saw was Men running a mock acting like little boys discovering they have a penis.  One guy made a sad joke about being careful not to bend over in front of me in case I might slip it in. I have to say he was an ugly rotting flesh sight to see. That place should be closed down. The one in Mackay Hinterland is Beautiful. Forget what its called? If its still there??
