Australian women are the least satisfied in the bedroom, according to a new global survey.
A Sex and the Modern Woman report found that one out of every three Aussie women said their sex lives were not very or not at all satisfying — compared with a worldwide average of just 16 percent.
Australian women were also likely to wish for better sex, with 65 percent saying they had often or sometimes longed for better sex in the past year.
As dissatisfying as it might be, 74 percent of Aussie women still rated sex as important in a relationship.
The most satisfied were Saudi Arabian women, followed by Mexican, Spanish, Italian and Venezuelan women.
Leading GP and women's sexual health specialist Dr Penny Adams told the Herald Sun that open communication was the key for couples to improve their sex life.
"Women like to communicate on all issues and sex is no different," Dr Adams said.
"It makes them feel connected to their partners."
The report surveyed more than 14,000 women from 14 countries.
