A woman who was photographed naked snuggled inside the body of a recently-killed horse has received death threats. 
Jasha Lottin, 21, from Oregon, with her boyfriend "humanely" killed the 32-year-old horse, which was in declining health, before wriggling inside.
Ms Lottin told the Seattle Weekly she was inspired by a scene from the Star Wars films and wanted to be “at one” with the animal.
In The Empire Strikes Back (1980), the character Han Solo cuts open a Tauntaun, a furry beast of burden, on the ice-planet Hoth and places an injured Luke Skywalker inside to keep him warm.
Ms Lottin, described as an aspiring model and nudist, said she had "no idea why people cared" about her actions. 
She said she did not intend to offend anyone.
However, the photos — which show Ms Lottin inside the horse corpse grinning broadly, standing next to it naked and smeared with blood, and apparently chewing on a piece of raw meat — have sparked an angry reaction.
Ms Lottin’s mother told KOIN Local 6 Ms Lottin had since received death threats and hostility from people across the United States who had seen the pictures and labelled her everything from a devil worshipper to a pervert.
The mother said she was neither.
After taking the photos the couple are reported to have eaten the animal.
Washington County investigators said the couple's gruesome behaviour did not break the law. |
